![]() I just expanded the color options because all of Maxis's are, IMO, too pale/pastel-y to be universally usable. And by "simple recolors" I mean that I didn't even edit the textures like I usually do. It's just some simple recolors of Maxis's "Simple Siding," probably my favorite of Maxis's sidings. īut I also have something else, something that I think is just far too basic to submit to MTS but that might be of use to others, so I'll put it here. :pĪctually, I brought two downloads, one that got through the queue at MTS before I could be arsed to put it here.So I'm just gonna link! It's a bunch of carpets, not very exciting, but they're nice. ![]() It's going to be a long, "busy" week of more sitting around waiting for me. I probably won't get to it until the weekend though. ![]() In other "news," I think I've decided to join all the cool kids on Tumblr, which I'll mostly use for following other people, but I'm thinking I might use it to share lots I build, when I feel like dealing with the whole arduous process of packaging them up and rounding up all the CC they need but that won't package. ![]() ( More palettes back here, mostly for my own future and mobile reference. Of course, it might also be disastrous since I'm really not much of an interior decorator, but. We'll see! Loveseats/sofas/chairs, lampshades, pillows, curtains, maybe some rugs, maybe some coordinated paint colors. But now I've got visions of a bunch of different coordinated pieces for living rooms in various palettes, maybe with some patterns here and there. So when I got home to my machine that can run SimPE at a tolerable speed, I pulled out this palette.Īnd I thought it looked pretty nice for a quickie, but that was as far as I got because I'm sleepy and need to go to bed soon. When it's winter, I like to put warm, bright, happy images into my brain. *laugh* So for whatever reason bright, happy Sim living rooms popped into my brain, probably because it's winter. The easy answer is walls for Sims, but.I've done enough of those, thanks. So then, of course, I got to thinking about what to do with these palettes. I created a number of 5-color palettes today while we were sitting around waiting, and I'm itching to do more. I've got a bunch of his bird photos on my netbook that I use for backgrounds, so I was using a few of them to experiment with today. All of which means (usually) bright colors, so his pictures are fun to pull colors from. Ethan is an avid (and quite good, for a hobbyist) photographer, and his favorite subjects are birds (and other animals, too, but especially colorful birds), flowers, and landscapes featuring bodies of water, be it an ocean or a rain puddle or a scummy, stagnant pond. Since I've got Photoshop on the netbook and I had nothing better to do, I tried my hand at something I've been wanting to try for a while now: Creating color palettes from photographs. But on the bright side, it gave me time to dink around with hobby-like things. I think we played for a total of about 30 minutes and I was there for almost 10 hours. ![]() So I was very bored at "work" today because it was a lot of sitting around waiting.and waiting.and waiting. ![]()
